A housing consortium that includes contractor Durkan has won a £400m regeneration contract across eight estates in Hackney, east London.
Metropolitan Community Futures, a partnership of Metropolitan Housing Trust, Community Housing Group and Durkan Estates, has been appointed to regenerate 1,234 homes in the area. Metropolitan Community Futures is a partnership incorporating Durkan Estates, Metropolitan Housing Trust and Community Housing Group.
Over a period of five to eight years, the homes will be either be redeveloped or refurbished, with new-build homes designed to achieve a “very good” EcoHomes rating.
In another housing deal this week, the Matrix Partnership, which includes Accord, Ashram, Caldmore, Rooftop and Trident Housing Associations, has won two contracts worth £30m in the Midlands.
The first is a £20m contract to build 150 homes on a brownfield site in West Bromwich in partnership with Mar City Developments; and the second is a £10m deal to build a 55-unit development for older people at the Broadlands site in Bloxwich near Walsall.
