Architect Jestico + Whiles completed The Central School of Speech and Drama in December 2005.
The scheme, opposite the Hampstead Theatre in Swiss Cottage, north London, cost £4.4m and falls within Sir Terry Farrell's masterplan for the area. Semi-public circulation areas have been wrapped around the perimeter of the building, behind a glass wall with varying degrees of transparency, so that the students' interaction can animate the facade and liven up the streetscape. Structural engineer for the building was Ellis & Moore and contractor was Geoffrey Osborne.
