Dragon poaches Aecom director

James Caan’s development and construction services firm Leadership and Management (L+M) has poached Aecom director Paul Bailey as deputy managing director and head of corporate services.

Caan, who is better known as a former ‘dragon’ on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den television series, part-owns L+M through his venture capital firm Hamilton Bradshaw Real Estate.

Over 20 years in construction and property Bailey has worked as a project manager and client and management contractor on projects including the Jubilee Line Extension.

L+M’s founder and managing director Paul Daniels said: “Paul’s experience will enhance our corporate and commercial office markets offer. He will work with commercial developers and corporate end users, supporting them with their strategies.

“Now that the economy has picked up a head of steam, we expect an increase in the number of commercial schemes being brought forward as well as significant growth in the end user occupier market.

“In London, we are already seeing increasing opportunities in this market, including a sizable proportion of retail space which tenants are now looking at for office fit-out.”
