Chemical giant says hardware of 25m-high installation will be reused after the Games
Dow is to manufacturer the 900m-long Olympic Stadium wrap.
The 25m-high wrap comprising 336 panels is designed to display moving images and minimise crosswind interference within the stadium.
Dow said the wrap would be greener and 35% lighter compared to conventional materials. It includes recycled content and the hardware supporting the wrap will be recycled after the Games.
Rod Sheard, senior principal at Populous, which designed the stadium said: ““It will provide a clear and memorable identity to the stadium. We are very pleased with the announcement, as the wrap completes the enclosure of the structure and gives form to the lightweight frame that supports the elegant white roof.”
