Developer Hub has been given planning from Greenwich council to build 245 homes for rent in a mixed-use scheme in Abbey Wood, south east London.

The Abbey Place scheme will go up next to the new Abbey Wood Elizabeth Line station, which is due to open next year.

The 23,000 sq m scheme, designed by architect Shedkm, will deliver the homes, as well space on the ground level for future retail and commercial use.

Abbey Place will comprise of two residential buildings of 21 storeys and 13 storeys, with apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms, and more than 400 cycle spaces on the ground floor.

The approved plans include new public landscaping, designed by BCA Landscape, connecting Abbey Place to the station approach, as well as rooftop garden spaces for residents.

Elsewhere in south London, Hub is also behind a new residential scheme on the site of Croydon council’s former headquarters.

The scheme, which is due to complete in 2021, features just over 500 homes and has been designed by Stirling Prize-winning architect AHMM.
