The Lakes by yoo is a private estate in the heart of the Cotswolds comprising a selection of designer eco-homes surrounded by six clear water lakes and natural woodlands.

Spread over 650 acres, the scheme is a joint venture between international branding, design and investment property firm yoo and the Raven Group.

Planning for phase three of the scheme was granted last month with an estimated completion date set for winter 2009. Phase two was released at the end of 2007.

Guilt-free luxury

Conceived as second home concept, due to its close proximity to London and Oxford, the scheme aims for sustainable luxury, with a dedicated on-site ecology manager responsible for creating and maintaining wildlife and flora habitat, including nationally scarce species.

Other sustainable initiatives at The Lakes include an on-site organic farmers market, the usage of sustainable timber in the construction process and the option for owners to purchase solar panels, rainwater harvesting and wind turbines on their homes.

The 21 homes due for immediate release in phase two will include split level decking with water access, roof terraces, and solariums.

Buyers will have additional options for bespoke interiors through one-on-one consultations with designers, selecting interiors based on the Jade Jagger or the yoo design studio designs.

In addition, glass and timber houses by product designer Philippe Starck have been constructed to blend seamlessly into the natural environment.

Facts & Figures

Phase I & II: The first phases of development addressed three showhouses and 48 four bedroom detached homes. The houses are between the scheme offers homes from 2581 and 2734ft2 in size.
Phase III: The third phase of development will include a variety of new house types and existing house types.
Around Longdoles Lake – purchasers will have the opportunity to select a four bedroom house by Jade Jager or yoo or a larger 4,000ft2 unit with south facing garden space and large decking over the Lake.
On Bowmoor Lake larger four - bedroom units will be available as well as 4 houses of 5,000ft2 and 3 of 6,000ft2.
