£80m programme will deliver six new schools with GF Tomlinson and Bowmer & Kirkland as construction partners
Derbyshire council’s Building Schools for the Future project has reached financial close on the first phase of its £750m BSF scheme.
GF Tomlinson and Bowmer & Kirkland are as construction partners, while Mitie will be responsible for facilities management.
The programme will deliver six new schools, two of which will be funded through the PFI. The first phase is estimated to be worth £80m.
Tim Byles, chief executive of Partnerships for Schools, said: “Derbyshire council can now move forward fully committed to providing outstanding education facilities for the local community. Building Schools for the Future has now achieved 13 financial closes in 2009, explicitly demonstrating our goal to transform the lives of schoolchildren across the country.”
