Projects include the renovation of one of the iconic Barbican towers
Consultant DBK has won key roles on two major projects for Redrow London, the renovation of one of the iconic brutalist towers on the Barbican Estate and the redevelopment of 500 Chiswick High Road.
DBK will provide project management, cost consultancy and employer’s agent services on Blake Tower (pictured), currently known as 2 Fann Street, on the Barbican Estate and will act as commercial manager on 500 Chiswick High Road.
Blake Tower is a 1960s, Grade II listed tower on the Barbican Estate and enabling works have commenced onsite. During the conversion, the exterior of the brutalist building will remain unchanged, while the interiors and common areas will be upgraded.
The building will include 74 luxury apartments designed by Conran and Partners and will be launched to the market at the end of this month, ready for occupation next summer.
DBK has also been appointed to work on 500 Chiswick High Road. The existing residential and office buildings will be demolished to make way for 56 apartments and five luxury townhouses, alongside ground and basement level commercial uses. Demolition works are under way with an 18 month construction programme to follow.
Steve Kelly, DBK, said: “Redrow London is well regarded in the marketplace for delivering high quality residential-led development and these two schemes are set to be among the most high profile of the developer’s pipeline portfolio.”
James Moody, Managing Director of Redrow London, said: “We have worked extensively with DBK and the team consistently adds value to our projects through experience, skills and lateral thinking. With these two projects now under way and with each presenting challenges of their own, DBK’s expertise will be well used to deliver a premium product to the market.”
