Consultant to work as cost manager on phase two of the redevelopment of Manchester’s Victoria Station
Consultant Davis Langdon has been appointed cost manager for the £200m phase two redevelopment of Manchester’s Victoria Station.
The first phase included the completion of the MEN Arena, also a Davis Langdon project, which was completed in 1995.
The firm’s Manchester office is working on the joint development between Network Rail, Muse Developments and Manchester City Council.
The scheme will include offices, retail, hotel and residential accommodation, alongside the station improvements that will see the train station rebuilt with a new roof to replace the original damaged by the IRA bombing over a decade ago.
Hamilton Architects won the competition for masterplanning of the station. Work is scheduled to start on site in September 2009.
Partner Stephen Frood, said: "We are delighted to be involved in what is an integral part of the ongoing regeneration of this key strategic area of the city."
