Darwin's award: An all-glass solar wall fronts of the £20m Darwin Centre, part of the Natural History Museum, is the latest addition to London's museum complex in South Kensington. The south-facing facade – designed by architect HOK International and structural and services engineer Buro Happold has glass louvres that automatically adjust to weather conditions. The building stands next to the Wellcome Wing of the Science Museum and stores more than one million biological specimens. Shepherd Construction was the main contractor, with Franklin + Andrews as QS.
