Architect designs range of boxes for architectural foodsmiths Bompas & Parr
CZWG has designed a range of fast-food boxes for architectural food curators Bompas & Parr.
The foodsmiths, whose jelly banquet was one of the highlights of the London Festival of Architecture, have collaborated with CZWG and Ramboll Whitbybird on a temporary fast food restaurant for the Abergavenny Food Festival.
The food curators will be serving up burgers in special boxes designed by CZWG, with signage and structures designed in collaboration with Ramboll Whitbybird.
One of CZWG’s boxes is intended to resemble a cow’s head, while the other twisting box design is a take on the fast-food children’s boxes commonly found at McDonalds and Burger King.
A spokesperson at CZWG, said: “The challenge took us places we have never been before, but I believe we have come up with two cracking designs. Whilst the apparently simple twisted box is more abstract and technically challenging, the cow is hidden with lots of fun elements for children to discover.”
Sam Bompas, one of Bompas & Parr’s founding members, dropped into Building’s offices to show us prototype versions of the fast-food boxes, and filled them with doughnuts instead of burgers. You can watch the video below.
