Firm hires director of transport and new group marketing director
Consultant Cyril Sweett Group has appointed David Young to head up the group’s project management team in the UK transport sector.
Young is a chartered QS and civil engineer. He joins Cyril Sweett from Capita Symonds where he was a Divisional Director (Rail) delivering projects for clients including TfL, Network Rail, Irish Rail, major rail contractors and train operating companies.
Young will be responsible for developing and leading the programme & project management team serving the rail and wider transportation sector.
The firm has also appointed Gary Travers as group marketing director.
He will be responsible for overseeing business development and sales strategies, managing the existing client base and pursuing opportunities in new markets throughout the world.
Travers brings nearly 20 years experience in the areas of sales, engineering and management and has held senior marketing and business development roles in a number of our key sectors such as central government, rail, defence, facilities management, retail, health and utilities.
He has developed significant business for companies including Morrison, Marconi and the Macquarie business, Airwave. He is also a chartered civil engineer and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School.
