A testing facility for CSCS qualifications has been established at British Land’s 870,000sq ft gross Ropemaker Place project in London.
The centre, which will enable workers to take the CSCS test for health and safety without leaving site, has been established by contractor Mace and client British Land in partnership with Lewisham college and Ucatt.
It is part of a drive by Mace to ensure all its suppliers are 100% compliant. Workers from other London projects will be able to use the facility.
Sir Michael Latham, chairman of ConstructionSkills, opened the centre. He said: “There used to be a fundamental lack of understanding about health and safety and a failure to take it seriously. This is why this centre is so important.”
