Channel Tunnel Rail Link supervisor is in the frame for tob job

Rob Holden of London and Continental Railways is to be appointed chief executive of Crossrail, according to The Times.

Holden, who supervised construction of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, is believed to have accepted the post after being assured the £16bn project would be fully funded.

Crossrail refused to confirm the appointment, however. A spokesman said: “We have made no announcement. As far as we are concerned the process is still underway.”

The news came as the City of London Corporation pledged to contribute at least £250m to the construction of the rail link.
