Police raid seven constructions sites and identify security staff without valid licences
Investigators have cracked down on rogue security firms on seven construction sites in Scotland.
According to the Security Industry Authority, of the 10 security staff checked, six did not hold valid licences.
The raids were the latest in a series of operations designed to clamp down on security firms with links to organised crime.
Detective sergeant Ian Connelly of Strathclyde Police, who headed the joint operation, said: “We are sending out a strong message to companies who provide security to the building industry – you have to comply with legislation.
"Companies who are employing security providers must ensure that they are employing credible firms.”
