Survey by Construction Products Association found 36% of firms expected exports to increase over the next year
Construction manufacturers have reported a boost in confidence as the low value of sterling continues to boost exports.
A survey by the Construction Products Association found 36% of firms expected exports to increase over the next 12 months and 24% forecast exports would be up by more than 5%.
Exclusive figures released to Building show a return to optimism in the export market after two quarters of zero or negative confidence.
The news comes as one supplier told Building its exports were up five-fold on Q1 of last year.
Kingspan Access Floors said increased demand from India and the Far East had sparked the explosion in exports.
Exports were up on Q1 of last year, although exports were down on balance year-on-year from the last quarter of 2010.
