Passengers evacuated from train in Buckinghamshire last night after two cows become trapped under it
Commuters had to evacuate a commuter train in Buckinghamshire last night after a herd of cows wandered onto the track and two became trapped under it.
The train, which was travelling from London Paddington, was stopped near Bourne End station. The fire service freed one of the cows but the other cow died at the scene.
None of the 50 passengers were injured, according to a spokesperson for train operator First Great Western.
The train was not derailed but it was damaged and the line remained closed until midnight last night. Network Rail assisted the evacuation.
