Contractor already has orders for £1.6bn of work beyond 2014
Contractor Costain has already secured £1.6bn of revenue for 2014 and beyond, it announced today.
In a statement to the City the firm reported an order book of £2.4bn with £1.6bn of that being for 2014 and beyond. It said £640m of revenue for 2013 had been secured.
The balance of the firm’s order book was for work in 2012.
The firm also said it had a high level of bidding activity and was preferred bidder for around £400m of work.
In the statement the firm said: “Costain is meeting the integrated service requirements of major customers, who are continuing to invest in essential infrastructure projects. Despite the on-going challenging economic conditions, Costain remains on course to deliver a result for the year in line with the board’s expectations.”
Recent wins for the engineer include an appointment to a £288m framework for nuclear decommissioning firm Magnox, which runs for the next ten years. It will see Costain provide infrastructure, construction and maintenance across the Magnox’s ten sites.
