150-strong cost consultant says new recruits takes figure to 26
Core Five has recruited three partners from Aecom as it looks to grow its market share in the commercial and residential sectors.
The firm, which picked up the consultant of the year award for 100 staff or more at last night’s Building Awards, said the new hires will take its total team of partners to 26.
Core Five, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, said Bernard Duffy, Harrison Paul and Gustav Mennen had all joined in the past few weeks.
Duffy spent 20 years as a cost management director for Aecom working on commercial and residential schemes for clients including Battersea Power Station, Landsec and British Land.
Paul was an Aecom director for eight years, and also worked on Battersea, while Mennen was a director for two years working on mixed-use developments including the Lots Road Power Station development for Hutchison Property Group.

In its last set of results, Core Five, which is working on the 2 Finsbury Avenue tower as part of its ongoing work at the Broadgate redevelopment for British Land, increased turnover 12% to £15.5m in the year to March 2022. It said it expects turnover to hit £19m next year.
The firm employs 150 people and a spokesperson added: “Despite the current economic headwinds, Core Five remains confident that it can continue with its growth strategy as it targets further market share across their commercial and residential markets.”
