Balfour’s £150m win
Balfour Beatty’s Transform Schools subsidiary has reached financial close on phase one of the £150m Islington Building Schools for the Future programme.
Interserve in Wales
Interserve has won two contracts in Wales worth a total of £55m. It will develop a £45m children’s hospital in Cardiff and will design and build a primary care resource centre in Port Talbot.
RLF’s Brighton college
Robinson Low Francis has been appointed cost manager for a £42m redevelopment of Worthing college in Brighton. The project, is expected to be completed in 2011.
£50m Suffolk job
ISG has been appointed preferred contractor to build a £50m sixth-form college for Suffolk council. Work is to start in January 2009 with completion due in summer 2010.
A personal best
Clark Contracts has won a £7.6m deal to refurbish Johnstone High School in Renfrewshire. The win is the largest in the Paisley firm’s 30-year history. It is due for completion in 2009.
School replacement
Morgan Ashurst has won a £44m contract for a Building Schools for the Future college in Devon. The contractor will replace the Bideford college with a facility to house 1,800 students.
