Orms-designed scheme will provide retail and office space
Contractors have been put on notice for a major refurbishment of a mixed-use West End scheme after the local council gave it the green light.
Westminster planners OK’d the mixed-use retail and office scheme with frontages at both 80 New Bond Street and 325 Oxford Street last month.
Work on the building, which was most recently anchored by clothing retailer Next, is expected to start in the summer, with the office and retail space set to be available from spring 2023.
The existing 37,500 sq ft building, split over lower ground, ground and five upper floors, was bought by developer Hines last year.
Designed by Orms, the new plans retain retail at ground and first floor level with office space increasing to 31,000 sq ft.
A communal roof terrace is also planned with a new office entrance on Dering Street.
