Three firms take jobs on northern routes
A trio of firms have been appointed to a £1.2bn Network Rail framework for structures renewals and enhancement work across Scotland and the North-east.
Bam Nutall scoops first place, landing a lot for up to £950m worth of work on buildings across the London North Eastern and East Midlands rail routes.
Carlisle-based Story Contracting has been awarded a lot with a value of up to £450m, while West Yorkshire-based Amalgamated Construction will carry out up to £500m worth of work.
A notice posted to OJEU does not specify the timescale over which work will be procured through the framework.
The award underlines a strong start to 2019 for Bam Nuttall, which has already scored a place on a £7bn Network Rail framework covering the south of England.
