Work on V&A, BBC and Sadler’s Wells’ new Stratford outposts up for grabs
The London Legacy Development Corporation is looking for an envelope specialist to work on three of the four new cultural institutions set to be built at Stratford Waterfront.
The latest job up for grabs at the £1bn development is a £7m contract to carry out glazing and metal cladding works at the new V&A, BBC and Sadler’s Wells buildings in the East Bank cultural development.
The works required include the construction of window and door systems, curtain walling and fire-rated cladding systems.
There will also be a requirement for design work to be carried out.
Five firms are expected to be shortlisted for the contract, which is due to run from October until August 2022.
The shortlisted firms are due to be notified by the LLDC by 24 May.
Interested contractors have until 18 April to register their interest.
Last month, the LLDC, which is building the cultural precinct using a construction management route, revealed the five contractors in the running for the £26m structural frame and roof works contract.
Careys, who is already carrying out enabling works for the whole Stratford Waterfront project, McGee, Byrne Bros, Expanded and Kilnbridge are all chasing the deal.
