Emcor UK will donate £10 for every pink hard hat worn this month
More than 100 construction workers gathered at St. Pancras station in London today, donning pink helmets to mark the start of national breast cancer awareness month.
The Emcor UK workers were taken from the St. Pancras Chambers site which is currently being re-developed.
They grouped together on the station concourse to form the figure 46,000 - the number of people who pass through the station during the average working day, and the same number of women diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
Emcor labourers across the country will be wearing pink helmets throughout the month in the hope of raising thousands of pounds for breast cancer, with the firm donating £í10 for every pink hard hat worn.
Keith Chanter, the chief executive of Emcor UK, said: ÅgMany of us will be, or have been touched by breast cancer at some point in our lives. We couldn't think of a better way of raising awareness than the unusual sight of hundreds of construction workers wearing pink hard hats.Åh
