Survey shows majority of UK firms regularly switch legal advisers, valuing quality above price
Construction companies have little loyalty to their solicitors according to a survey.
Less than 40% of firms in the UK always instruct the same solicitor, with 58.5% regularly changing legal services supplier.
The survey, by law firm Halliwells, questioned 7027 construction and building-related organisations in the UK.
The legal services market is increasingly competitive and construction companies are obviously shopping around
“The research shows that a law firm is only as good as its last job,” said David Rawlinson, partner at Halliwells.
“The legal services market is increasingly competitive and construction companies are obviously shopping around – as they should do.
Halliwells’ survey also revealed that cost was not a priority for construction companies when selecting their legal advisers, with quality of service and specialist knowledge considered the most important factors.
