Steel contractor Cleveland Bridge has this week won a further £500,000 in adjudication as part of its dispute with Wembley national stadium main contractor Multiplex.

The ruling is Cleveland Bridge’s third and fourth adjudication victory against Multiplex, and brings the total awarded to £2,480,980.

The adjudications arose after Multiplex initiated proceedings against Cleveland Bridge, alleging that the subcontractor owed it £14m. Multiplex dismissed the firm from the Wembley site in July.

In a statement Cleveland Bridge said it expected the £500,000 award to be paid this week. A further adjudication result is anticipated next week.

Both Cleveland and Multiplex have also served claims in the Technology and Construction Court, which could supersede the adjudication decisions.

Multiplex said it was assessing the situation.
