Simon Butler leaves Miller Construction to run Solihull office

Clegg Construction has opened a new office in Solihull following a string of contract wins in the West Midlands.

The office will be run by new West Midlands regional director Simon Butler, who previously worked at Miller Construction as area director for the Midlands.

Clegg’s projects in the region include the construction of Lightmoor Village Primary school near Telford and a new learning centre at Warwick University, and a major buildings refurbishment scheme at Birmingham University.

Clegg managing director Simon Blackburn said: “Clearly it has been a very difficult period for our sector and many areas of the construction industry remain subdued due to the current economic climate,” added Mr Blackburn.
 
“That said, we have managed to secure a welcome number of projects over recent years and this has helped us to carry forward our plans to increase our penetration into other areas of the country.”

Clegg opened a Yorkshire regional office in Leeds last year.
