The Brindley Arts Centre in Runcorn, Cheshire, was one of 82 winners of the Civic Trust Awards, which were announced this week.
Civic Minded
The £7m multifunctional building, designed by John Miller and Partners and developed by Halton council, won a special award for the best contribution to the local environment and community. Other award winners included a community centre in Woodley, Berkshire, designed by HawkinsBrown, and tea rooms converted from an old school hall near Bellingham, Northumberland, by RMJM. All 82 award winners will be published in a special supplement with Building on 6 May.
