Training and research body makes guide freely available on its website until the end of the month
Construction training and research body CIRIA today offered free downloads of its latest guide on repairing flood-hit properties. The move was in response to the widespread flooding that has hit many parts of England in the last week.
A spokesman for the body said the offer, on its flooding website, would last until the end of August.
The guide covers the repair of common types of domestic buildings in the UK, including masonry construction, framed construction, solid and suspended floors, fenestration, basements, fixtures and fittings and services.
The guide is written primarily for building professionals or insurers who deal with flood damage and repair, but may also be useful to builders, surveyors and householders in commissioning repair work. The guide was written by BRE under contract to CIRIA.
