Former Lend Lease business development director will hold the same role at Miller Construction
Chris Houchin has joined Miller Construction as national business development director. He joins the firm from Bovis Lend Lease, where he held the same position.
Houchin, who has worked at Wimpey Construction, Balfour Beatty and Heery, left Lend Lease in July. His departure coincided with that of Julian Daniel, then the company’s executive general manager for England and Wales.
Their exits followed a period of change at the firm, which recently undertook a major overhaul of its pension scheme.
Houchin said of his appointment: “ When I was offered the chance to join them it was an opportunity that I was thrilled to accept. I am looking forward to working with Chris Webster and the team.”
Chris Webster, chief executive of Miller Construction, said: “We are delighted that Chris is joining us. He brings with him to the role a wealth of experience and an unrivalled reputation in the industry. Chris’s experience will enable us to strengthen our relationships with our existing clients, in addition to introducing us to a new client base.
Houchin will manage Miller’s current accounts and will be focusing on repeat business in the company’s seven target markets.
Webster said: “We are keen to respond to the growing future opportunities in the private sector. We believe Chris will play a crucial role in the future growth and development of our business.”
