DVD launched to explain health and safety regulations to design professionals
Almost one year to the day of the launch of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, the first of a series of films addressing health and safety at the design stage has been launched.
The DVDs, produced by Construction Industry Publications, are aimed at architects and other design construction professionals who have a key role in creating safe, sustainable and buildable designs. It challenges architects' perceptions of addressing health and safety through their designs and seeks to provide best practice solutions to health and safety with ideas and hints from current architects.
Speaking at the launch, Tom Harper of Constructing Excellence South West said the vision was to create quality training to designers at low cost. “The DVDs will cost £14.99 and are very visual, spelling out the key points and best practice.”
‘Company compliance’ is the first DVD in the series. A further six are planned over the coming year. Topics that will be covered include: roofs; elevation, including windows; refurbishment and alterations; building services; new build housing; and erection of structures.
The films have been commissioned by film production team SquaredCircle and are not for profit.
