Work on £25m deal to start next spring
Six firms are expected to be shortlisted for a £25m distribution centre at the Port of Cardiff.
The 11,000 sq m scheme for Associated British Ports (ABP) will consist of a warehouse and office space. It will also require external works including landscaping, car park and a service yard across a 24-acre site at the port.
The eight-month job is expected to start next March. Firms have until 9 December to send in bids with invitations to tender due to be sent out 11 days later.
ABP operates 21 ports around the UK and manages around a quarter of the country’s overseas trade.
It was recently given the green light for a £25m energy facility at the Port of Lowestoft featuring new office space, a quay expansion and a deeper port to accommodate more maintenance vessels.
