Consultant will provide design services on the £60m Somerset scheme
Consultant Capita Symonds and its architecture division Capita Architecture have been appointed by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to provide design services on the £60m redevelopment of Yeovil College in Somerset.
The team won a design competition against Aedas and Dyer to secure a place on the four year project.
Work willl involve the demolition and redevelopment of the vast majority of the existing college campus.
The 17-acre Yeovil College site serves the wider community of South Somerset and North West Dorset and offers courses across all 15 LSC areas of learning.
The courses are provided for 14 to16 year olds, further education/sixth form for 16 to18 year olds, higher education students at the University Centre Yeovil, and work based learning trainees for 16 to18 year olds and adults.
The contract comes as a result of Capita Symonds’ place on the LSC’s southern region design framework.
