Consultant also hires associate director for infrastructure advisory team
Consultant Capita Symonds has appointed Alan Farley as principal security consultant.
He will be leading the company’s critical national infrastructure security consultancy services offering with an initial emphasis on the water industry from the East Grinstead office.
Farley has extensive experience of the management of security within the water industry, having been head of security for Thames Water Utilities as well as being involved in the development of industry-wide security standards.
Additionally, he has provided consultancy services to a number of other UK water companies, including Scottish Water, United Utilities, Northumbrian, Folkstone and Dover, Cambridge and Kent.
Andrew Kennedy, Capita Symonds associate director of security, said: “This is a key appointment for the Security team.
“His knowledge of, and profile within, the water industry further equips us to make serious inroads into the protection of Critical National Infrastructure marketplace.”
Capita Symonds has also appointed Tim McQue as an associate director in its infrastructure advisory team.
McQue joins from Peter Brett Associates in Reading where he was a project director and senior associate working on a number of international projects - including a major leisure development in Morocco and port facilities in India.
Prior to that he was a project director with Halcrow for 10 years working on PPP projects such as the Northern Ireland Roads Service DBFO Package 2, Carlisle Northern Development Route PF,; Birmingham Highway Maintenance & Management Service PFI, and major PPP highway schemes in Greece and Hungary.
McQue, who will be based across the Newbury, East Grinstead and London offices, is a chartered engineer through membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institute of Highways and Transportation.
He also holds a degree in civil engineering with management and an ACCA postgraduate diploma in financial management.
