Consultant hires associate director of project management to lead £193m library project in Birmingham
Consultant Capita Symonds’ Birmingham office has appointed Michael Woolley as associate director of project management.
He will be leading the £193m Library of Birmingham project with the firm’s project director Dave Robertson.
The new library, due to open in 2013, will adjoin the Birmingham Repertory Theatre to create a cultural centre.
Woolley joins Capita Symonds from consultants DBK Back where he provided project coordination and strategic development management consultancy for Arena Central Developments’ £450m regeneration of the old Central TV Studios in Birmingham.
While at DBK he also project managed a new £28M distribution centre in Derbyshire for Sports World International, a new £2m new city centre office building in Birmingham for Calthorpe Estates and oversaw the pre-planning of a major regeneration schemes in the West Midlands.
Prior to this, he spent ten years with the Symonds Group.
Mark Williams, Birmingham regional director, said: “Michael possesses a particularly diverse range of experience having worked for client, development and contractor led organisations and is highly adept at utilising varying project strategies and procurement methods, including traditional JCT and GC Works contracts and current PFI and PPP forms.”
