Consultant presents proposal for the development of Earl Shilton and Barwell
Multidisciplinary consultant Capita Symonds has drawn up plans for the development and regeneration of Earl Shilton and Barwell in Leicestershire on behalf of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.
The plans have been put out to public consultation and focus on sustainable urban extensions to the south of Earl Shilton and west of Barwell, as well as the regeneration of the two settlement centres.
Capita anticipates that by 2026 the proposed development will deliver approximately 1,600 new homes and 4.5ha of employment development at Earl Shilton, and around 2,500 homes and 6ha of employment development at Barwell.
This growth will be supported by the provision of community facilities including new schools and healthcare services, substantial recreation space, and improved walking, cycling and public transport provision between Barwell, Earl Shilton and nearby Hinckley.
