Phillips Lighting's colour-changing LEDs give a facelift to Egypt's fifties tower
The Cairo Tower in Egypt has been a new nighttime look with state-of-the-art color changing LEDs. The technology, from Phillips Lighting, uses on average 80% less than a similar scheme using conventional lighting technology. The Cairo Tower was built during the fifties and sixties and was designed with its partially open lattice-work to resemble a giant lotus plant. It stands 187m tall, some 43m higher than the Great Pyramid of Giza.
