Masterplan offers strong framework for Games says Design for London and Cabe joint review
The masterplan for the London Olympics has been praised by the Commission for Architecture in the Built Environment and Design for London.
The two organisations joined forces to form a joint design review and offered advice and recommendations regarding the masterplan in the lead up to the formal planning permission which has now been submitted.
In a written comment on the masterplan application the two organisations support the design and the work that has gone in to it. They agree that it provides a strong framework in which Olympic facilities, the Olympic park and future development can take place.
Commenting on the masterplan, the panel chair, Cabe deputy chair Paul Finch said: “This project represents an extraordinary opportunity for regeneration of, and investment in, one of the most neglected parts of London.”
