Design watchdog says HKR's scheme is 'insensitive to its neighbours'
Cabe has criticised plans for an office development in Farringdon, stating it was unable to support the planning application.
The proposed nine-storey office building, designed by HKR Architects, was described as unsuitable for its location, because it was too large and bulky compared with the rest of the area.
In its review summary, Cabe said the building was “overwhelming and dominant and insensitive to its neighbours,” and added that it would not “contribute positively to Farringdon Road.”
A proposed seafront promenade and marine boating lake on the Wirral also came under fire in its review summary from Cabe.
Cabe said the scheme had “potential”, but aspects needed to be carefully thought through, including any features which could obscure views of the sea.
