Building’s owner buys Ecobuild

Building’s parent company UBM has acquired Ecobuild, the fastest growing exhibition in the UK.

The event is dedicated to sustainable building products, which is held annually in March at London’s Excel Centre.

Ecobuild was launched in 2004 and has enjoyed explosive growth, with the number of construction and sustainability professionals visiting the event up from 6,100 in 2006 to more than 55,000 in 2011.

UBM plans to launch geo-adaptations of the event around the world, starting next year in Shanghai in April.
