Two-thirds of those who voted on Building’s website would like to see Qatari Diar’s Chelsea Barracks scheme designed by Quinlan Terry, Prince Charles’ preferred architect

More than 1,000 readers responded to the poll, 68% of them in favour of Terry’s design. Thirty-two per cent supported the plans drawn up by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.

Francis Terry, Quinlan’s son and partner in the business, said: “We are all so pleased with the results of your survey.”

Rogers was originally commissioned to masterplan the £1bn scheme and design its residential elements on Chelsea Bridge Road, west London. These include 319 luxury apartments and the same number of affordable ones.
