Practice designs compact sustainable city to support Brazil’s growing economy
Architect Broadway Malyan has unveiled its masterplan for a new city of 100,000 people in Brazil.
The project near Cabo de Santo Agostinho, for developer Moura Dubeux Engineering and Cone, will convert a 470 hectare site into the new city of Convida Suape.
The plan uses a compact landscape keeping many amenities within walking distance of homes and uses integrated utilities to achieve a sustainable environment.
Practice director Margarida Caldeira said: “Convida Suape will set a benchmark for strategic urban development and city expansion projects in North Eastern Brazil, now one of the fastest growth areas in the world.”
