The Media Centre for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, designed by architects RMJM, is nearing completion. The facade for the 270,000m2 building is in its final stages, and has so far used 47,000 tonnes of steel and 230,000m3 of concrete. Workers have been on site 16 hours a day, seven days a week since building work started in April 2005. It will be completed by February.
