Bouygues UK lands contracts worth £36m on Nicholas James Group development in Southampton
Bouygues UK has won two contracts worth £36m on a mixed-use development in Southampton.
The Nicholas James Group development includes an 85-bedroom hotel and 12 apartments to be built on a headland that was once used to moor yachts and cross-channel ferries. The projects are due to start this month, with completion expected in late summer 2017.
The Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa is Bouygues UK’s fourth hotel contract in the last six months following contract wins citizenM, Gansevoort and the Manhattan Loft Corporation.
Darren Gill, UK regional managing director at Bouygues said: “This latest contract win shows, Southampton continues to be a strong and important market for us; and will remain so as we continue our expansion further north into Berkshire, Surrey and the surrounding counties.”
The firm previously built the residential development, Admirals Quay, consisting of 300 new homes in the city.
HGP Architects are also on board as part of the project.
