This is a first look at architect Grimshaw’s design for Newport station in Wales, created in association with Atkins

The project, which includes a 1,000m2 bridge and two spiral ticket offices, has a contract value of £16m and is on course to be completed in time for the Ryder Cup in October 2010. The bridge’s internal structure has recently been hoisted into place.
