Firm increases staff numbers by a quarter
Increased work in the UK helped swell both profits and turnover at Sheppard Robson last year.
The firm carries out around 90% of its work in the UK and a recovering domestic market meant income at the firm climbed to £23.9m from £16.2m in the year to March 2015. Pre-tax profits soared to £4.6m from just over £1m last time.
Sheppard Robson has offices in London, Glasgow and Manchester as well as an overseas outpost in Abu Dhabi.
Growing workloads here, which include a scheme to turn the old Marylebone town hall into a new base for the London Business School (pictured), saw it take on 25% more staff during the period. The number rose to 306, with the hike entirely down to the firm hiring more professional staff. The move sent the firm’s wage bill up £2m to £10.5m.
The pay packet of the highest paid employee, who is not named, shot up from £380,000 to £719,000.
