Rockwool, manufacturers of non-combustible stone wool insulation, has launched Rockprime, a mechanically installed blown insulation for the loft area of homes

Unlike rolled insulation, which takes time and can be cumbersome to install, Rockprime can be installed to any thickness to suit required U-values. The loose lay nature of the product means that a good coverage between and over obstacles such as joists and pipework is easily achieved, even into difficult-to-reach eaves.

As Rockprime is a blown material there is minimal or no wastage and no settlement after installation. The insulation also offers acoustic benefits and will not be displaced by air movement.

Rockprime is available through a national network of approved contractors. It is BSI kitemarked and approved by both the Energy Savings Trust and Ofgem.
