Birmingham’s Exchange Square wins planning

Developer Nikal has won outline planning for the second phase of mixed-use scheme Exchange Square in the heart of Birmingham.

Nikal said the office-led scheme will help fill an “upcoming shortfall” of Grade A office space in the city.

The scheme comprises of two buildings, including 600,000ft² of office space, ground floor retail, and a 200-bed hotel and apartments.

Planning permission is subject to agreement on Section 106 conditions.
