List of firms interested in bidding for three new regional prime contracts worth up to £4.35bn published
The Ministry of Defence’s estate arm has named a host of firms interested in bidding for three new regional prime contracts worth up to £4.35bn.
The Defence Infrastructure Organisation has revealed the names of the firms seeking to bid for the three regional prime contracts, which are to be let as part of the New Generation Estates Contracts (see full details below).
The three contracts for the south west, south east and central regions are for hard facilities management on the Ministry of Defence estate and construction projects valued below £3.93m.
Together the contracts are worth up to £4.35bn, over a minimum of five years and a maximum of ten years, depending on potential contract extensions.
A shortlist of four firms bidding for a further regional prime contract, covering Scotland, was published last year.
As Building revealed earlier this year, the NGEC has been hit by a series of major delays, with no contracts to be let this year, as expected, with the DIO now seeking to appoint a private sector partner to take on the management of the defence estate.
The three regional prime contracts are not now expected to be awarded until 2014.
A full list of bidder and their details can be found here.
