The egg-shaped pavilion celebrates the centenary of the publication of The Plan of Chicago
Zaha Hadid has designed this egg-shaped pavilion for celebrations in Chicago to mark the centenary of the publication of The Plan of Chicago, architect Daniel Burnham’s masterplan for the development of the city.
The pavilion will be composed of an intricate, curved aluminium structure, with fabric skins zipped around the metal frame, and an interior screen, which will feature a video installation. Hadid said the tensioned fabric was inspired by Burnham’s original ideas.
